Squarespace Conversion Tracking App

Project Overview

Stape is a leading server-side tracking platform helping businesses improve analytics accuracy and marketing performance. To expand support for Squarespace merchants, Stape required a scalable solution that could seamlessly connect Squarespace stores to their server-side GTM infrastructure while maintaining a simple user experience.

InfraNext developed a full-stack SaaS application for Stape that connects Squarespace stores with Server-Side Google Tag Manager (sGTM). The solution enables merchants to capture accurate conversion data, improve attribution, and overcome browser privacy restrictions through a robust server-side tracking infrastructure.

The Challenge

Squarespace is a closed platform with limited support for advanced server-side tracking implementations. Merchants faced several challenges:

Inability to reliably send purchase and refund events to server-side GTM containers.

Limited access to first-party customer data during checkout.

Reduced tracking accuracy caused by browser privacy restrictions and ad blockers.

Complex manual GTM implementations requiring technical expertise.

Lack of a centralized interface for managing tracking configurations.

These limitations made it difficult for store owners to accurately measure marketing performance and optimize advertising campaigns.

What We Built

Squarespace OAuth Integration
Implemented a complete OAuth 2.0 authentication flow using the Squarespace Extensions API, enabling merchants to connect their stores with a single click and eliminating manual API configuration.

Automated Tracking Snippet
Generated personalized tracking snippets that automatically connect stores to the appropriate GTM container and server-side infrastructure with minimal setup requirements.

Purchase & Refund Tracking
Captured comprehensive order data, including transactions, customer information, and product details, and delivered it directly to server-side GTM containers for accurate conversion measurement.

Server-to-Server Webhooks
Developed a secure webhook system that receives and processes Squarespace events directly from the platform, ensuring reliable event tracking independent of browser limitations.

Cookie Keeper Technology
Implemented a first-party cookie management solution that maintains user identification across sessions while remaining resilient against browser privacy restrictions.

Custom Loader Integration
Implemented a first-party cookie management solution that maintains user identification across sessions while remaining resilient against browser privacy restrictions.

User Data Enrichment
Enhanced conversion quality by securely capturing and forwarding customer and marketing attribution data to improve server-side matching and reporting accuracy.

Self-Service Dashboard
